Why is H.Y.D.R.A. Important?

In 1988, H.Y.D.R.A. of Hart County, Inc. was established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization
with the purpose of reaching the youth of Hart County by providing preventative programming
that fills the gap in service to youth. H.Y.D.R.A. stands on the mission to reach young people in
our community by providing programs for our youth to be mentored while gaining useful and
meaningful experiences

Within our community we have heard too much about crime, truancy, substance abuse, obesity,
teen pregnancy, illiteracy, and academic failure. But all that is changing, and H.Y.D.R.A. is
leading the charge in that transformation. Now, instead of youth being unsupervised and given
the opportunity to make unwise decisions, they are enjoying summer and school break
enrichment camps, after school tutorial/mentoring programs, and gaining knowledge about
the consequences of the choices they make now.
