The Hart County Board of Commissioners met September 1st, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hart County Administrative & Emergency Services Center.

 

Chairman Joel Moore presided with Commissioners Ken Brown, Don Burdick, Harry Hannah and R. C. Oglesby in attendance. Also in attendance were County Attorney Walter Gordon, Associate Kim Wilkerson, County Administrator Gary Cobb, County Clerk Lawana Kahn and Deputy County Clerk Betty Floyd.

 

Chairman Moore called the meeting to order. Commissioner Burdick entered a motion to exit into executive session to discuss legal matters as required by O.C.G.A. 50-14-2, 50-14-3, and 50-14-4(b). Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously. The resolution and affidavit is recorded in the "2000-2001" minutes book.

 

Commissioner Burdick entered a motion to exit executive session for a brief recess. Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously.

 

City Councilman George Rooks delivered the Intergovernmental Agreement for the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax proceeds between Hart County Water & Sewer Utility Authority, Hart County and the City of Hartwell. He reported the City Council voted 5-1 to approve the agreement.

 

Commissioner Burdick entered a motion to reconvene executive session to continue to discuss legal matters. Commissioner Hannah provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously.

 

After further discussion of pending litigation, with no further action taken during executive session, Commissioner Hannah entered a motion to exit executive session and adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
