Public Hearing

August 30, 2001

6:30 p.m.

 

 

Chairman Oglesby called the Public Hearing to order at 6:30 p.m. The Public Hearing was scheduled to receive public input on the proposed tax increase for FY'02. In attendance were Commissioners Burdick, Banister, Dorsey and Oglesby. Also in attendance were Gary Cobb, Selma Cheely, Bill Holland, Mike Cleveland, Phil Hix, Channel 32 and approximately 17 citizen not employed by the county.

 

The County Administrator was asked to brief those present on where we stood in the budget process and what were the major impacts on the budget. The attached spreadsheet was distributed that summarizes those items.

 

The Constitutional Officers present were recognized and asked to make any comments appropriate to the meeting. Bill Holland asked the Board to consider his request to upgrade the positions of the four employees in his office. The Chairman suggested that Mr. Holland contact the County Administrator who would arrange a meeting with the Board to revisit this issue.

 

The floor was turned over to public input. Two citizens asked questions concerning road maintenance in the Reed Creek area. There were no questions or comments concerning the proposed tax increase.

 

Chairman Oglesby adjourned the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
