Hart County Board of Commissioners

January 16th, 2001

Called Meeting

5:30 p.m.

The Hart County Board of Commissioners met January 16th, 2001 at 5:30 p.m. in the Hart County Administrative & Emergency Services Center.

Chairman R. C. Oglesby presided with Commissioners Randy Banister, Don Burdick, Ken Brown and Joey Dorsey in attendance.

Chairman Oglesby called the meeting to order and announced the purpose of the meeting was to discuss amending the contract with GA Highway Pavers. He remarked that the current contract would expire January 18th, 2001.

County Administrator Gary Cobb stated Michael House has requested a second draw for the Kings Bench Road project and has not completed the project.

Mr. House remarked that previously he has received draws from other projects and said he could continue the project if he could get a draw of a least $45,000 and would be able to finish it if the weather permits within ten to fifteen working days.

Administrator Cobb reported that GA Highway Pavers certificate of insurance has expired. Mr. House explained that he has renewed the policy and the county will receive a copy from his insurance agency to that affect.

After discussing Mr. House request for a second draw of funds and extending the contract period, Commissioner Brown entered a motion to amend the contract by allowing two draws and extend the contract to February 18th, 2001. Commissioner Banister provided a second to the motion. Commissioner Dorsey opposed. The vote carried 3-1.

Commissioner Dorsey remarked that the contract should have been followed as written and agreed. Mr. House said he did not read the contract in its entirety.

Commissioner Banister entered a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Brown provided a second to the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
