Hart County Board of Commissioners

The Hart County Board of Commissioners met May 23^rd, 2001 at 12 noon in the Hart County Administrative & Emergency Services Center.

Vice Chairman Burdick called the meeting to order at 12:05 p.m. In attendance were Commissioners Brown, Dorsey and Banister. Also present were Carl Puckett (ISO), Billy Ray Vickery, Nan Harbison and Gary Cobb.

Mr. Puckett gave a brief introduction to his company and his visit purpose. He explained what broad areas he would be reviewing, namely: Communications, Fire Department, Water System(s). He recommended combining all stations into one system and classifying the system as a split system. The advantages and disadvantages of the option were discussed. Mr. Puckett said he should complete his work Friday but it would be about four months before we know the results. He also suggested the county request an Improvement Statement after the results are known. This statement will identify what items to improve/correct/add etc that would reduce our rating.

The meeting was recessed at 12:45 p.m. and reconvened at Fletcher's Restaurant. The same people were in attendance except Commissioner Brown. Discussion continued around the county's present capability and the growth that is coming and other ISO-type subjects. Meeting adjourned at 1:30 p.m. Note that notice was left in the Board chamber and with the County Clerk where the meeting had moved.
