Executive Session

October 23, 2001

 

 

Executive Session was entered into from the Regular Meeting of October 23, 2001. Those present were Commissioners Oglesby, Brown, Burdick, Banister and Dorsey. Also present were Walter Gordon and Gary Cobb.

 

1.      Dependent Health Coverage Eligibility for County Administrator

 

Motion by Commissioner Banister that by his interpretation of the County Administrator's Contract and his experience with normal business practices concerning employee insurance co-pay policies, the County Administrator is not eligible to receive the $100/month dependent health benefit as additional compensation. Commissioner Dorsey seconded the motion. Vote 5-0.

 

2.      Joey Smith - Backpay

 

Chairman Oglesby made a motion to pay Joey Smith backpay upon reinstatement on October 24, 2001. Motion died for lack of a second.

 

Motion by Commissioner Banister to pay backpay instanter to Joey Smith if he is found not guilty of the charges against him or the charges are dismissed. Commissioner Burdick seconded the motion. Vote 5-0.

 

3.      Potential Litigation

 

Walter Gordon discussed with the BOC potential litigation matters.

 

Motion by Commissioner Dorsey, 2nd by Commissioner Brown to go out of Executive Session and adjourn the meeting. Vote 4-0.
